After serving for two years as the Town Architect of Seaside, Florida, Scott Merrill opened a practice in Vero Beach, Florida in order to work on the new project of Windsor. He attended the University of Virginia, and Yale University, where he received a Masters of Architecture in 1984. He is registered in Florida, Virginia, Georgia and Massachusetts.
George Pastor joined the firm in 1991. He became an associate in 1996, and a partner in 1997. He attended the University of Miami, where he received a Bachelors of Architecture in 1989, and the University of Virginia, where he received his Masters of Architecture in 1991. He is registered in Florida. David Colgan joined the firm in 1994 and in 1999 became a partner and moved to oversee a new office in Atlanta. He received his Bachelors of Architecture from Notre Dame 1994. He is registered in Florida, Idaho, and Georgia.
The firm has won three national AIA design awards, and twelve Florida AIA design awards. Its work has been published in numerous books, catalogues, and magazines, in Europe and the United States. It has been exhibited here and abroad. Scott Merrill has lectured throughout the United States on the firm's work, and served on school and professional design juries.
