The end of year exhibition is currently running at the Culity Gallery in the Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts Department of the University of Western Australia. It is amazing to see all the different studio themes from around the department and the standard of work applied through each of the year groups. Whilst pondering how you will ever reach the standards demonstrated throughout all the years there is some truly inspirational work to people like me to aspire to.</p>http://archinect.com/blog/article/61279872/capital-isolation

Where else in the world would you want to live? In today's beleaguered economy, at the moment Perth has money, resources, sunshine and beaches - what is this paradise you speak of I hear! All this and more in the worlds most isolated capital, but what of good design? Perth is on the way to removing the small town mantle and replacing it with a range of big city textures and shapes. </p>

Perth has a reputation of Architectural conservatism through strict planning and government regulations, but there is a real effort now to remove the homogeneity previously applied with exciting new projects which are about the city experience rather then just fitting in to what has gone before. Less concern there now seems to be with making sure that everyone likes a building after all any opinion is better the beige!</p>
