These structures are based upon a repetition of cellular units that transform relative to structural stresses applied to it. Designers such as Gyorgy Kepes and Erwin Hauer have studied the relationship between modular systems found in nature and applied the patterns to visual studies and architectural screen systems in the 1960's. The focus of our experimentation will be how the liquid and solid aspects of the project can inform the design of an urban topography that channels the flow of water throughout the Aquatic Center.
