<img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/7o/7olbu0d69fstu34d.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>Skidmore, Owings & Merrill released new rendering of their proposal for a master plan for Philadelphia’s <a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/143660106/30th-st-station-district-plan-proposes-mixed-use-neighborhood-above-rail-yards" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">30th Street Station Precinct.</a> Described as a “long-awaited vision of a bold, fully-integrated mixed-use urban district, with a vibrant transformation hub situated at its core,” the project in part is a response to research suggesting a “sizable uptick in transit activity in the coming decades.”</p><p><img title="" alt="" src="http://cdn.archinect.net/images/650x/sd/sdmxhr4utwyju81p.jpg"></p><p><img title="" alt="" src="http://cdn.archinect.net/images/650x/qk/qk491l9pme0gixwr.jpg"></p><p>The master plan centers around the historic 30th Street Station, a Beaux Arts building that sits on the western bank of the Schuylkill River, which divides the city.
