Social media took the reins as the public turned to these platforms for entertainment and reflection. While the amount of time spent on these apps has also sparked controversy and discourse, many architects, design professionals, students, and architecture enthusiasts helped make the days a bit more bearable.</p> <p>From beautiful project images, works in progress, and informative posts that addressed architecture's social and political realities, below are firm and studio Instagram profiles to keep an eye on as 2021 kicks off.</p> <p>*Profiles are listed in no particular order.</p> <p><strong><a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/150203550/weshoulddoitall" target="_blank">WeShouldDoItAll</a> for keeping us socially aware and spatially curious.</strong><br><strong>More at </strong><a href="https://www.instagram.com/weshoulddoitall/" target="_blank"><strong>@weshoulddoitall</strong></a></p> <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CH-4bQrhcfA/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" target="_blank"> View this post on Instagram </a><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CH-4bQrhcfA/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" target="_blank">A post shared by WSDIA | WeShouldDoItAll (@weshoulddoitall)</a><br><p><strong><a href="https://archinect.com/cohesion" target="_blank">Cohesion Studio</a> for their blend of textures, materials, and interior spaces.</strong><br><strong>More at </strong><a href="https://www.instagram.com/cohesion.studio/" target="_blank"><strong>@cohesion.studio</strong></a></p> <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CHid2vClr7z/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" target="_blank"> View this post on Instagram ...</a> https://archinect.com/news/article/150146417/happy-birthday-john-lautner-to-celebrate-here-are-10-projects-photographed-by-julius-shulman Happy Birthday John Lautner! Some of his works, like the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/144590554/john-lautner-hits-the-silver-screen" target="_blank">Elrod House</a> in Palm Springs or the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/gallery/149989369/3/win-mid-century-modern-architecture-travel-guide-west-coast-usa-by-sam-lubell" target="_blank">Chemosphere</a> in the Hollywood Hills, have been depicted in blockbuster <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/36262/hollywood" target="_blank">Hollywood</a>&nbsp;movies. Other projects, however, live on as humble&mdash;and not so humble&mdash;structures, fulfilling the uses they were originally designed for. Either way, Lautner&rsquo;s legacy remains a fixture of <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/1271621/american-architecture" target="_blank">American architecture</a>.</p> <p>Over time, Lautner's projects, each one, a pinnacle of spatial design, material, and detail, have become synonymous with <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/1322/los-angeles" target="_blank">Los Angeles</a>, <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/5490/googie" target="_blank">Googie Architecture</a>, and <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/561451/midcentury-modern" target="_blank">Mid-Century Modernism,</a> overall.
