Total revenues fell by &pound;33m to &pound;200m in the year ending 30 April 2021, accounts for Foster + Partners, the practice&rsquo;s main trading company, show. But profits before tax almost doubled to &pound;36.2m during the year, compared with &pound;19.8m in the previous year.</p></em><br /><br /><p>New projects included a planned <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150273381/foster-partners-unveils-designs-for-greece-s-tallest-tower" target="_blank">luxury tower development</a> in Greece and a <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150249676/foster-partners-unveil-designs-for-shurayrah-island-in-red-sea" target="_blank">new tourist destination</a> on an artificial island in the Red Sea (although notably, the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150287967/end-of-the-line-for-foster-s-tulip-after-uk-government-rejects-project-due-to-climate-concerns" target="_blank">Tulip Tower</a> did come off the books due to environmental concerns).&nbsp;</p> <p>Foster himself is worth well into the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150289043/wealth-is-cemented-at-the-top-as-starchitects-continue-to-see-gains" target="_blank">nine-figure range</a> and has recently <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150284713/foster-partners-sells-significant-shares-to-canadian-family-private-investment-firm" target="_blank">sold</a> a significant portion of his shares to a Canadian investment firm. The firm reported earnings for the <a href="https://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/news/foster-partners-posts-record-revenue-as-overseas-work-booms#:~:text=The%20UK's%20biggest%20practice%20in,two%2Dyear%20fall%20in%20income." target="_blank">past four years</a> that combined are over &pound;900 million ($1.24 billion) in spite of the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150270473/aia-report-examines-impact-of-covid-19-on-architecture-business-conditions" target="_blank">considerable forces</a> at play economically during the pandemic. Companies are ranked by the total revenue for architectural services performed in 2016&mdash;for companies that offer other services as well, such as planning or engineering, earnings acquired through these offerings are not considered in the rankings. Gensler brought in a total architectural revenue of almost $1.2 billion dollars. To put that number in perspective, the next in line&mdash;<a href="http://archinect.com/firms/cover/106465/aecom" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">AECOM</a>&mdash;only brought in $595 million in architectural revenue, though their overall design revenue was $7.4 billion.&nbsp;</p> <p>The top four spots all remained the same with <a href="http://archinect.com/perkinswill" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Perkins + Will</a> and <a href="http://archinect.com/jacobs" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jacobs</a> taking 3rd and 4th place, respectively. Out of the top 10 firms from last year, eight remained in this tier while IBI Group and Stantec Inc. both inched forward to join this category. The firm tallied $1.04B in architectural revenue last year, $778.5M of which was earned domestically. This jives with overall gains in the domestic architectural market, where firms' revenue grew approximately 6% from 2013-2014.</p><p>Coming in second place for the 2014 rankings was AECOM, which pulled in $801.5M.
