As the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150114155/wework-is-making-moves-should-other-co-working-spaces-be-worried" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">global coworking company expands</a> its brand to tackle residential real estate (WeLive) and education (<a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150093521/big-and-wework-complete-first-wegrow-elementary-school-in-nyc" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">WeGrow</a>), it is hoping to use its aggregated information to reenvision the future of our cities.</p> <p>To do so, We Company has hired Di-Ann Eisnor, the former <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/606382/waze" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Waze</a> executive, and <a href="https://archinect.com/dror" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Dror Benshetrit</a>, the designer and futurist whose eponymous studio is known for their pioneering object and installation designs. The Lord and Taylor Building was the firm's first major department store project and in 2007 was cited as a historic New York City landmark. After a <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/131877038/postmodern-no-1-poultry-divides-architects-in-debate-over-recent-heritage" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">heavily contested designation</a>, the building is currently in the process of undergoing an extensive refurbishment headed by Architects BuckleyGreyYeomen and expected for completion in spring 2018.&nbsp;</p> <p>WeWork will replace the former tenants, the British insurance company Aviva, who moved out of the building earlier this year. According to the&nbsp;<em>Financial Times</em>, the co-working giant is seeking to capitalize on Brexit uncertainties by offering flexible office space in London to anxious global banks.
