Play "Arkinoid" arcade on BIG's website

In a throwback to arcade games, Bjarke Ingels' firm BIG has created an Arkanoid version of their website called Arkinoid, where you can earn points by hitting the firm's projects with a black paddle ball:

Don't think it will be easy to claim the top score, however: "Ben Devine!" is currently in the lead with 9223372036854775807 points, making one wonder about his employment status.

“En Pointe” runner-up entry by The Open Workshop + Lorena Del Rio Architects for E12 Austria, Kagran

After submitting "En Pointe" to the Europan 12 Austria competition, The Open Workshop + Lorena Del Rio Architects team placed as a Runner-Up in a three-way tie for the Kagran site (In other words, a "Winner" title wasn't given.) "En Pointe" uses the arcade concept and hybrid, multi-functional spaces to improve Kagran's connectivity and potentially enhance the city at an architectural and urban level.

The Grand Opening - Honorable Mention Entry, Redesigning Detroit: A New Vision for an Iconic Site

Last week, we published the winning projects of the international design competition Redesigning Detroit: A New Vision for an Iconic Site. Organized by the Opportunity Detroit campaign, the competition sought after ideas for a potential signature project on the former Hudson’s Department Store site in downtown Detroit. [...] the proposal "The Grand Opening" which won an Honorable Mention. The design team comprised Chung Whan Park, Terry Park, Jeong Jun Song, Hyuntek Yoon, and Kyung Jae Yu.
