Claimed to be Canada's&nbsp;only international, multi-disciplinary design competition of its kind, the awards welcome architects, designers, manufacturers, and students from all design disciplines to send in the best of their work for a chance to win.</p><p>As expected, the AZ Awards continue to attract more competition from across the globe.&nbsp;The sixth edition reeled in a total of 826 submissions, which the <a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/148503043/introducing-the-2016-az-awards-jury-members" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">international jury</a> narrowed down to <a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/149941606/2016-az-awards-finalists-are-revealed-vote-for-the-people-s-choice-now" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">66 finalists</a> this past spring. In the end, top honors went to only 18 projects, including those by well-known practices like ZGF Architects,&nbsp;Shim-Sutcliffe, Neri&amp;Hu, Lateral Office, Studio MK27, to name a few. This year's call for submissions reeled in 826 entries from 52 countries. After sifting through the submissions, the&nbsp;<a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/148503043/introducing-the-2016-az-awards-jury-members" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">five-member jury</a>&nbsp;picked 66 finalists. Recently concluding its fifth edition, the AZ Awards welcomes designers, architects, firms, manufacturers, and students from various disciplines to send their best work for a chance to win and to show off their skills to an international audience.</p><p>Compared to 652 entries from 36 countries last year, competition leveled up with a total of 720 entries from 43 countries.
