Living Tree Co-Housing Community

The Living Tree Co-Housing Community is a net-zero facility that has been designed to foster the unique residential atmosphere of co-living. Typically, co-housing entails private living quarters and shared communal spaces. Living Tree, however, is imbued with a much deeper and richer sense of social hierarchy and flexibility.

Not only are private and communal spaces differentiated, but within the private areas, rooms and hallways have been designed to allow neighbors to easily open their home to each other. This mixed-use community center was shaped and situated to fit the budding fabric of the City of Merced. There is emphasis throughout on passive solar design, thermal mass, recycled materials, etc.
