The students at FLD have made prototypes of the wooden triangular modules

We decided to go with the name PARESITE (parametric parasite pavilion for reSITE). The final design of PARESITE was inspired by the mobius strip, a surface with only one side and only one boundary components. The semi-enclosed form protects against the harsh elements of nature while letting the...
Using the triangular module system, Team A wanted the form to be based off of a Mobius strip: a surface with only one side and only one boundary components.
Team B (aka "Predators") Groupie pic #2. Yay.
Team A (aka "Cold Pop") decided to make a partial 1:1 scale model to study the joint system and get an overall feel of what this pavilion will look like. Martin, the wood pro, made a 1:1 scale of the triangle module with pinewood -- the actual material we will be using for the pavilion. We...
The second year students at ARCHIP split into two groups to further the design and make it actually buildable. Team A was working on Yuliya's design and Team B worked with Dessy's design. Both teams chose names: Team A is "Cold Pop" and Team B is "Predators." (But because I think they sound...
With Yuliya's pavilion design chosen as the winner, the next step was to develop it into an actual, buildable structure. Agreeing that a triangular paneling would be the best, we got together to explore different types of methods to use the triangular panels.
Although these proposals have not placed in the competition, each student's design had something interesting to show. View the full entry to see more photos of the students' design proposals. Yana Vasilenko (RUS) Mikkel Wennesland (NOR) David Lukas (CZE) Anna Srpova (CZE) Jason Nam (KOR) Josef...
The students at ARCHIP had 2 weeks to come up with design proposal for the reSITE Festival's pavilion and presented their designs to the jury - Marie Davidová, Osamu Okamura, Martin Gsandtner, Martin Šichman, and Martin Barry (we had a lot of 'Martin's). It was interesting to...
Here is a quick recap of what has been going on with the environmental pavilion: 1. Workshops, workshops, workshops In the course of 2 weeks, we had workshops after workshops researching types of pavilions, wood materials and their reaction to environment, fabrication techniques, and parametric...
In case you haven't noticed from the obvious title of the blog, we are designing and building an environmental pavilion in Prague. The project is led in cooperation of the Architectural Institute Prague (ARCHIP) and the University of Life Sciences Prague, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences...
