BellyQ

Located in Chicago's West Loop, BellyQ adds a unique flavor to the existing 'Randolph St. Restaurant Row'. Chef Bill Kim (known for his existing Urban Belly and Belly Shack venture) has teamed up with Michael Jordan, The Cornerstone Group, and DMAC Architecture to present a new look at Asian Barbeque.

DMAC Architecture worked with Kim to maximize the restaurants experience through a variety of design features. Patrons have the opportunity to use the quick 'grab-and-go' window on the Randolph St. exterior, while others may choose from a variety of indoor dining options. The interior space consists of a full bar, traditional table seating, as well as a series of hibachi grille tables that offer a deeper level of intimacy between the chef, food, and guest. The space is further enhanced with a karaoke room that doubles as a private space for special events.

Furniture and finishes were keenly scaled back without sacrificing taste. DMAC recognized the original nature of the building, a pickle factory, and embraced its characteristics through bare concrete, reclaimed wood, and hot rolled steel. Laser-cut graphics add an artful and contemporary touch to this mature style.
