Santa Cruz, CA
As with all very large integrated practices the flow within and between the specialties is of critical importance to its success. In this 6500 sf suite there were 2 prominent exterior entrances on opposite sides of the structure. Each division is afforded its own area while spaces that are between them are dedicated to shared functions like X-ray, Lab, Conference/Staff, Mechanical and Restrooms. Because of the distances involved General Dentistry was given it’s own Sterilization area, while Orthodontics and Oral Surgery shared their Sterilization area – but importantly with access from opposite sides. The existing building’s mission style architecture was reflected in the design of the interiors.
