Design Collaborative is pleased to continue its long tradition of supporting Turnstone, a nonprofit organization providing a comprehensive continuum of supportive services addressing the unique needs of people with physical disabilities and their families, by designing and building a one-of-a-kind digitally fabricated bench that was donated for a fundraising event. Using 3D modeling and algorithmic scripting, Design Collaborative was able to design the bench to a level of precision so that it could be fabricated by Chadwick Industries with a CNC router. The bench – made only of furniture grade Baltic birch plywood and slotted connections that are joined together with friction and a dab of glue – is designed for any indoor porch or covered space.
