This foward thinking research facility embraces Wayne State's vision for the future as a major research institution by encouraging transdisciplinary work across a range of scientific areas with the goal of translating new discoveries to improve human health and society. The Multidisciplinary Biomedical Research Building's (MBRB) unique and ground breaking design integrates Detroit's past by reconstruction of the historic Dalgleish Cadillac Building designed by renowed architect Albert Kahn with a new 70,000 sq. ft. additon which embodies Detroit's future as a biotechnology hub.The 200,000 gross square feet (GSF) of multidisciplinary and translational research laboratories and animal housing supporting 48 principal investigator thematic research teams in addition to core research and shared laboratory support facilities.
