Santa Monica College Science Building Replacement Facility

Laboratory Design Consultant for Santa Monica College's 93,000 SF new multidisciplinary science building, replacing the existing 1950's era science building damaged in the 1994 Northridge earthquake. This facility includes science teaching laboratory and classroom facilities for the physical and life sciences departments; lab types include general and organic chemistry, biochemistry, biology, botany, microbiology, physiology, anatomy, marine biology/zoology, physics, optics, computer learning and self-paced open computer labs, and a botanical greenhouse. Project was completed in 1999 and published in Architectural Record, August 2000.
