Tokyo Bay Microcity

In the not too distant future technology will replace human productivity. Basic skills and knowledge of art, crafts and workmanship have been lost. This Microcity proposal sets to offset this global condition by shifting the role of technology from mass producer to assistor, and shifting citizens’ roles from mass consumers to improvers. This city will not only act as a factory for hand-crafted goods but as an institute for gathering skill-sets and sharing this knowledge with similar microcities globally.

This proposal will be a free-zone branching directly from Haneda International Airport, which will allow unrestricted cross-cultural training, education and production. This will also allow massive scale distribution and sales of goods. From basic robotic armatures for individual residents to automated construction machines for the entire Microcity population, technology will act as assistors based on need. Customized panels will be installed by the automated BuilderBot to increase citizen’s productivity.
