The development is designed to earn the LEED ND Silver designation. All housing structures are multi-family, which maximizes the available land, and each have rooftop photovoltaic panels to capture solar energy. Each structure is linked to a local grid that shares energy when needed. The community would buy energy from the conventional grid when necessary and sell back excess energy to be ‘net-zero’ conventional energy over the course of a year.
