Muncie Main Street

Design Charge: Redesign the Main Street streetscape to make for a pleasing and inviting space to encourage pedestrian use throughout the year. Use design elements to add character to enhance the spaces giving residents a sense of pride and the community a sense of place.

A hardscape "ribbon" creates a sense of cohesion stretching the length of Main Street in the downtown Muncie. Ribbon enhances, links, and highlights prominent spaces along the thoroughfare. Vacant lots are repurposed and existing assets are reprogrammed to reestablish Main Street's importance in the Muncie community.
