    The End of the Year

    Hey folks!

Finals are finally over, yay!  That means the year end show happened pretty recently- a night here at uic that means we dress a little fancier, drink, congratulate our peers, and look at projects from each studio.  But if you didn't go, fear not!  I've collected a few that I want to show off for our school.

    FOURTH YEAR UNDERGRAD-

Terrence Hector | Prof Stewart Hicks

Ivory Tower(s)- The project is a play on typical library typology, in which the usual program-driven organization is replaced with a tower "skill tree" of knowledge, with more esoteric and important books being stored on the top floors.

    FIRST YEAR GRADUATE-

Danny Travis | Prof Paul Preissner

Fundamentals- Architecture may be dissected into a large but finite number of planes, corners, and perforation types, which are then stylized to create the architectural canon.  After analyzing these types they are recombined to create a house that, while fundamental, is still interesting.

    SECOND YEAR GRADUATE-

Samra Pecanin | Profs Penelope Dean and Grant Gibson

Case Study LW-18- A timeline of collected furniture organizes the interior of this home made for a couple of travelers and collectors. Beginning at the entry of the home, the collection circulates through the household, creating partitions between different areas of the home. As the furniture becomes the architecture, it essentially serves as the structure. The ceiling of the home is held up by antique armours, cabinets, appliances, and bookshelves that are within the timeline.

    THIRD YEAR GRADUATE-

Nazifa Virani | Prof Sean Lally

Simultaneous Plan- The objective of the project is to address the problem of sensory overload in our everyday lives.  Is the solution to hold back or give the body the ability to channel through these stimuli? An implant, similar to a radio dial, will allow users to tune into whichever channel they desire. A turn of the dial for the user could mean the introduction of a new habitat within the same space.

So there's just a smattering of the many awesome projects we saw.  More to come throughout the summer!

Because of the end of the year, I can skip over my usual housekeeping drones with announcements from the school.

    Except this one.

We have a slew of summer programs to announce for all different age groups and interest levels in UIC and Architecture in general.  I'd explain it, but this handy picture explains more!

Ok, with that I'm Audi 5000.  I'm going to try to post more stuff throughout the summer of the stuff I missed throughout the school year.  Until then!

Starting From Energetic architecture of Sean Lally we can go away with the energetic projects (energetic costumes - energetic clothers - on winter peoples can wear only summer clothers and arround the clothers, they can wear  energetic fields - heat field (thermal, electric, light). We will can weare energetic clothers. Clothers made from energy (thermal, electric, light). Arround of normaly summer clothers - energetic materials, whitch protect us agains the low temperature instead of conventional jackets, coats - overcoats (whitch are very heavy) - replacing coats, overcoats with energetic costumes made from energetic materials. In this idea - energetic glowers - a pair of bracelets - one bracelet for each hand, witch generate thermal energy - help us to protects our hands agains the lower temperatures. When temperature will change, the intensity, power of energy will be change to ensure the good protection and thermal confort of body. Peoples can adjust (control) the intensity of energetic field of future clothers. In very heat countries and periods the energetic cloth can work vice versa - to protect bodies agains the height temperatures mainening a good temperature - creating a cool energetic fields. Like a energetic clothers - energetic shoses, energetic hat and/or very complet energetic clothers total protection of body (preffer from head to foots and hands). This will be the future of fashions - energetic fashion - energetic clothers - energetic costumes with total protect of body. The work of clothers will be ensured by small electric and thermal generators - whitch use the bateries and body energy and day light's energy (sun energy) and light energy (extern light sources), heating of bodies, moving of bodies - multisources of energy, crystal stones energies - all types of energies generate will be amplified to normal parameters. Dimension of generators - very small, incorporated in bracelets, buttons, hooks, colliers, etc. One simple collier will generate a energetic field costume (clother) from entire body.

Other idea - furniture made by energetic materials

The idea open a new branches: The energetic design, the energetic fashion, the energetic architecture.

The future energetic costumes (clothers, trousers, etc.) will by made from energetic fields (thermal, electric, light) , especialy thermal and they will have temnperature sensors, energies generators (very small dimensions) put in buttons, hooks, bracelets, colliers, belts, small crystal stones hang from neck, etc.

^what's going on here? Is this some sort of incantation to resurrect a dead post?

But actually I missed this before. That first library project is fantastic! Nice drawings.
