Exciting news for the Twin Cities: just last night, three teams, led by Daoust Lestage, James Corner Field Operations, and Tom Leader Studio/!melk presented for the opportunity to redesign Nicollet Mall, a major pedestrian street in downtown Minneapolis. It appears that the James Corner Field Operations team has been selected.
To see the presentation slides for all three teams: http://www.scribd.com/doc/169412712/Nicollet-Mall-redesign-presentation. It was interesting that all three proposals were overall very similar, utilizing undulating walkways and denser plantings.
