I just wanted to tell you about a new website--something between a blog and an academic journal--called YES NO. It was started by two GSD students, Ted Baab and Jade Yang, in order to create a new public forum for GSD students and the wider community to contest and discuss questions of interest to architecture. They'll post a new question periodically and publish responses as they are received and reviewed.
The YES NO community is based out of the GSD, but everyone is invited to participate. Hopefully this will become a way for us all to find out about--and shape--current opinions and views are about the things that are on our minds.
It just got launched this week. I submitted a short love poem in response to the first question (Is beauty ever bad? Is ugly ever good?). I'd be glad to hear what you think: post a reply to my response! Think you can do better? Submit your own response!
Check it out at: http://yesnoyesno.net
and let the games begin!
Thanks for reading!
P.S. It's been snowing like crazy here!
Lectures and exhibitions, life in the trays, happenings around Cambridge...and once in a while, some studio and course work. Please note that all live blogs are abridged and approximate. If you want to see exactly what happened, in most cases a video of the event is posted online by the event's hosts. If you have concerns about how you are quoted, please contact me via Archinect's email.
