i think the townhouse you refer to is sibley hall...no one lives there, it does however hold the library, offices and lecture rooms.
the new building will finally connect the two bldgs you see in most of the photos so we dont have to run around outside in the snow all winter (thankfully!)
I dunno..i'm still nostalgic about having to navigate my 3x4 foot model down the stairwell from the top floor of rand and then into sibley before they installed the handicap access and push button and then weave into the cramped seminar room 142 or something like that. Nice the new building is being realized though...took long enough for it to happen.

That's a really intriguing steel section at the bottom of the truss closest to the camera in the 3rd image. Hmm.
