I couldn't resist sending you all a quick note because... this is my first post from Gund Hall!
I've been fighting insect infestations at my apartment and had to step out to regain some sanity, so I figured I might as well check out the new digs. As I ascended the trays, I realized that each one seems to have it's own micro-climate--at the bottom, it's cool and heavily air-conditioned, and it gets warmer as you go up. The fourth tray felt about right and I found an empty desk (not difficult right now, as it's pretty deserted). 
It's pretty exciting to be in Gund, though it might also be that I'm just happy to not have flies strafing me every ten seconds.
On the walk over here, I recognized a classmate as he whizzed by (too quickly for me to say hello) on his bicycle. That's the second time I've recognized someone on the streets in this city (the first was a bank teller), and it felt good.

so the real question is: when are we going to have drinks at Charlie's Kitchen?
cool studio environment with the trays and everything. is that the whole studio space at gund?
@Pixelwhore: a few of us did meet last Monday, but we should have another rendez-vous before school starts!
@Luke: Yep, the whole building is organized around these trays, and everyone (except, it seems, PhD students and faculty) are in them.
appears you also get a fairly decent overview of whats going on with everyone below (from the higher tray locations)...good choice.
@xaia: that's not even the very top tray! It's a huge room and I think being able to feel and see everyone else's work and creative vibes is going to be awesome. I should note, though, that I was just squatting at that spot for an evening--we don't have our spots for the year yet, and I'd be surprised if we get to choose. :)
