landscaping stories
Intro: As you all may or may not know (I posted it in one of the many school threads) Izabela Riano , my wife, was recently accepted into the GSD's MLA program. In order to bring stories from the greener profession I suggested to her that we could share the blog and to my delight she accepted. Without further ado, I give you Izabela Riano MLA '10.
Recently accepted to the Landscape Architecture program at Harvard's Graduate School of Design I attended open house last Friday.
It was an interesting experience different from last year's open house that I attended with Quilian. Applying only to one graduate program (GSD) made my decision quite simple. I am excited to join the program which appeared to be clearly structured, very professional, inspiring, and challenging. Landscape Architecture is a great new direction that I was thinking about for some time. It is a new direction for me since previously my focus was on fine art {printmaking, drawing, installation} and graphic design. Where themes of body, psychological, inner landscapes, and gender diffused with each other creating my own topography. Also, I have to admit that there is still a little bit of doubt in me about leaving my comfortable life as a graphic design instructor and subordinating my whole life to studying at GSD. I guess life is about making sacrifices. If you are interested I have a webpage where you can see some of my works, the site is currently under construction; then it is going to be reconstructed... then I will renew it // it is a never ending process of coding and redesigning that I cannot help //

post-typography/double dagger at the Carpenter Center; at that time a mix of excitement and interest were making me a little dizzy.)
