Resulting from a particular programme, aiming Guimarães city acclamation as 2012 European Capital of Culture, the proposed museum advocates a strong, irreverent and unique image, marked by the landscape, to ensure its validity and people flow, regardless of the incorporated programme.

The shape transits from a regular state, with a similar dominant height as to the north mesh of the terrain, to a more irregular state, reaching a scale that allows an interaction with the city’s vertical references.

The composition consists of an internal volume, dense, which incorporates all the administrative services and intimate spaces within the programme, and an outer scenic skin delimitating an open and versatile interstitial space, developing leisure and exhibition spaces.
