Traffic Office Building

Client:                                          Tehran Municipality

Function:                                    Office Building

Gross Floor Area:                      5000 sqm

Realization:                                2007-2010

Traffic Office Building is a small office building located alongside one of the busiest streets in downtown Tehran. Being commissioned by Tehran Municipality, it was meant to be served as headquarter of Tehran Traffic Control Police Force.

The building is comprised of five office floors on top of the entrance Ground Floor designed in the form of ‘open office’ allowing the most flexibility of use in the limited floor area of each level and two basement levels which accommodate dormitories for traffic police conscripts and trainees.

The building has taken the shape of its irregular plot in horizontal view since it covers the whole plot. It is blocked from three sides by neighboring buildings. Therefore, the only side left for façade design is to the south facing the immediate adjacent city road.
