Degree Project I Fall 2012
RESPITE + TRANSITIONAL SPACE
My project is about respite and transitional space. My definition of respite is a period of delay, rest from something unpleasant and difficult. And transitional means a temporary, working, fill-in passage from one state/place to another. I am interested in the space between events. The field/rhizome idea is a major concept of this project because it has the natural ability to expand and unify for future need. There are a lot of inter-chronic pause/ events when nothing is happening with geometric shapes that “evade” void spaces in this project. This project involves art, design, and social activism with natural forms.
