88 Wycoff

88 Wycoff is a residential project set in Brooklyn, NY. It is a renovation of an existing apartment of 1120 sq ft for a young couple whose aim is to give a brand new and more sofisticated look to their home. The house is composed of a living room with open kitchen and dining room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. While on the one hand, the intervention of demolition and construction is minimal, on the other hand, the project focuses on a gen- eral concept of design and of use of particular materials that makes the entire space more uniform and defined from the entrance to the living room.

The hallway is wrapped by a wall mounted system made of shelves and cabinets that leads you to the living room. It is not just a library but it become an unique with the hallway creating movement with a sequence of voids and solids. It helps gaining a lot of space for storage and to show pieces of design. The choice of using naked plywood makes the all system become vibrant and warm with its lively texture.
