About

I have a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, Egypt.
I am currently a Junior Architect at ENCODE Studio in Alexandria, Egypt. I have been volunteering at the studio ever since I was in the bachelor year at college. Throughout my time as an undergraduate, I participated in many workshops, competitions, summer schools and internships in different fields of architecture, where I gained knowledge and skills in the career. I have learned about many cultures, as I worked with people from different countries. What helped me with this is my excellent knowledge of the English and French languages. I’ve had a knack of getting my point across very well, communicating with people, working in teams and under pressure. I am always looking forward to widen my knowledge and studies, going through new experiences and learning new methods, skills and trends.

ENCODE Studio, Alexandria, EG, Junior Architect

ENCODE is a 'design by research studio' created by the collaboration of architects whom are challenging the conventional model of design production by cutting edge technologies, research and collaborating between education, practice and manufacturers to create an international hub of design that can thrive in today’s economy.

Through collaboration with universities and factories, Encode offers to its clients; Architectural, interior and furniture design services, educational workshops, and industrial prototypes. Encode has undertaken a unique strategy based on cutting edge technologies of CAD & CAM (Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing). Based on the mathematical and material logic of Natural systems, Encode also investigate various digital and physical computational tools to explore innovative designs.

ENCODE team believes in research as a catalyst of innovation in the design industry. During last few years, they have conducted a series of workshops, seminars and lectures in computational design and fabrication in Alexandria, London, Vienna,Paris and Beijing. Also they have been involved in academic, organizational and professional collaborations with specialists in digital design and fabrication industry in Egypt, Germany, China and UK. During these collaborations ENCODE has found nature as a rich world of inspiration through its mathematical and material logic.

With strategic industry partners and collaborators, they would be able to develop this knowledge through exploratory workshop environments that focus on learning through making with the latest digital design and fabrication systems through team based projects, dealing with the translation of ideas into atoms, shifting scales between study models & 1:1 fabrication prototypes.

OC "Open City" from Landscape to Exterior Design Summer School Competition, 1st Place

OC OPEN CITY International Summer School 2015, in coincidence with the Milano Expo 2015 event, aims to deal with the challenge proposed by Expo’s topic: ‘Feeding (the) Landscape’. The background of the topic involves three different kinds of “scapes”. Food-Scape targets to integrate the physical expression of the three principals of the “food cycle” in the urban fabric of Piacenza: production (urban orchards and agro-parks), distribution (markets consisting of moving devices) and consumption (new generation of restaurants). Expo-Scape reinterprets the Expo topic according to a specific point of view that is more oriented to spatial disciplinary addressed to architectural and urban design. Land-Scape grasps the panorama (landscape/environment), as the sight object, in several scales of interaction and with different hierarchies. This new perception conceives the soil as a precious and active resource. Workshop’s goal is to design a new museum of agriculture (green and active).
