In traditional societies such as the UAE, families usually live together under the umbrella of the patriarch in big villa houses. But with the arrival of western lifestyles, big residential buildings have been constructed all over the UAE, presenting themselves as new option to their traditional lifestyle. So, how can we convince people who have lived traditionally in houses to move to high-rise buildings?

This project seeks to motivate people in Abu Dhabi to move from villas to a residential tower by means of recognizing elements in the traditional architecture, and reinterpret them in the project: sikka and communal courtyards. 

The idea from the beginning was to divide the building into sections, which will allow us the opportunity to have more private communities, related by the courtyard.
