East Harlem has been approaching an affordable housing crisis all while the local population desperately demands more community gardens. With vacant lots being as precious as they are scarce, the East Harlem Housing Commission have been placed in a tough spot allocating land efficiently.

On the other hand, why can't there be a affordable housing/community garden hybrid?

This project calls for a +/- 80,000 sq ft. mixed use building comprised of housing, retail, and other community ammenities of primarily timber construction.
