About 

Pier Alessio Rizzardi is an architect, researcher and theoretician, founder of TCA Think Tank. Since 2013 he’s been an Assistant Professor at Polytechnic University of Milan, Faculty of Architecture, journalist for l'ARCA International Magazine, correspondent for STUDIO Architecture and Urbanism Magazine, Coordinator of the Series of Books "Protagonisti".

He studied architecture in Polytechnic University of Milan and at FAU-USP, Sao Paulo and obtained Master's Degree at Polytechnic University of Milan. Since 2007 he had collaborated with UMM Sao PauloBamford Dash Architecture in Melbourne, MUDI-JDS in Shanghai and AMproject in Milan.

In 2011 he founded TCA Think Tank, an international research group aiming at producing projects and researches, pushing the understanding of the nowadays situation, exploring the Theoretical Condition of Architecture. Pier Alessio Rizzardi has been published on books, magazines and online platforms among the others MARK, East West Innovation, GIZMOArchDailyDesignboom.

He was the curator of the conference “The Condition of Chinese Architecture: Liu Xiaodu Talks” in Polytechnic of Milan University, he hosted the Forum "Mountains Beyond Mountains" in Chinese Pavilion in Venice Biennale Fundamentals and he was guest of the discussion “The Future of The Museum in China” in Beijing at STUDIO X in collaboration with Columbia University.

The teaching experience focuses on design strategies which are supported by the concepts of Environment and Landscape stating a new vision of context idea. The architectural design is placed in a spatial complexity where the site as physical phenomenon is mixed with the site as cultural phenomenon. The main theme of the design experience concerns the way through which ideas take shape.
