About 

Melissa Maiocco went to school for her bachelors degree at The Art Institute of California. While attending school she worked for a Interior design firm in West Los Angeles. There she began to learn the business aspects of the interior design industry. After years of dedication to that firm Melissa opened up Maiocco Designs.
Melissa’s design interest originated with contemporary design. After working in the industry she developed an appreciation of all types of design. By having this open mind opinion of the design world it has allowed her to work with all types of clients. “ I strongly believe my clients homes should reflect their tastes not mine, this is why I work with them to develop their own creative master piece for each room through out the house.” Melissa has worked on elaborate traditional to simple contemporary homes all over the Los Angeles area. Each one reflecting the clients personal taste.

 Review and/or develop interior design, space planning , construction documents, and interior architectural concepts for projects relative to client program, budget, and other criteria.
 Develop and direct overall project design approach in conjunction with other allocated staff.
 Direct development of design intent for projects with various internal disciplines including, architecture, interiors, procurement, FF&E suppliers, and outside consultants to ensure projects conform to internal design standards and or brand standards.
 Ensure project related design information is in alignment with operator and or brand standards, owner criteria, property improvement plans, project schedules and budgets.
 Regularly review contract documentation, shop drawings to ensure design intent.
 Develop and maintain a positive relationship and open channels of communication with client, internal staff, contractor, outside consultants and public agencies regarding the project design.
 Make design presentations in conjunction with appropriate senior management staff.
 Conduct internal and external design reviews.
 Coordinate design work with that of outside consultants and in-house disciplines on multiple projects.
 Coordinate submission of designs to hospitality brands at appropriate stages and incorporate response to brand review comments into the design.
 Act as a mentor for the design staff and direct education regarding office design standards, practices and policies.
 Assist Project Leadership Team in the selection of design staff members for project assignment.
