Row House

The first project of Advanced Architectural Design, the Row House project was to be done with the same ideas as the Row Houses in Houston, Texas. However, we were suppose to add our own features to it. It was to have all the accommodations a home would have, just with limited space and minimum luxuries. During this project, I learned about the sole usage of AutoCAD for designing the floor plans and elevations. We were designated to research the materials that were used in the original row houses and the materials that were being modified for the updated row houses. I was also introduced how to properly label every aspect of a floor plan, elevation and wall section.

Working with constant competition from my classmates, my mindset was focused on producing more than what it was required. It was a way that I would be able to push myself to deliver better results within the available time that is given. Even though it was a very simple design, the extensive detail of the construction documents made the project about a 1.5 months long.
