I am currently the Director of Store Planning at Sports Authority and I am exploring opportunities of where my skills and passion for leadership and design could be benefit another company. I have been a designer for 14 years and have led teams of designers for 9 years. I have been with Sports Authority for over 11 years and have been able to navigate the corporate culture successfully. At each stage of my career I have increased my level of responsibility and been able to create processes and build structure to address changing needs and priorities of the business. During my time at Sports Authority I have been a part of over 600 new and remodel stores that have been constructed and I truly thrive in an ever-changing and face paced environment.

~ Promoted to position with responsibility to elevate the quality of design of Sports Authority’s new and remodel stores by strengthening relationships between internal business partners, addressing changing priorities of the business, aligning strategies and developing process improvements in line with brand initiatives.
~ Led, mentored and developed team of 3-10 employees (designers and mid level managers) in the reorganization of the Store Planning department.
~ Spearheaded strategic plan initiatives set forth by executive leadership to optimize space allocation. Created tools to be used by designers and merchant/planning teams to measure sales volume and determine ideal square footage for each department in new and remodel stores.
~ Led team successfully by leveraging strengths on 29 new and remodel store projects after organizational reduction in force.
~ Set direction and provide strategic vision to Store Planning department in the execution of new and remodel store layouts. Ensure design intent is met for all elevations, construction documents, architectural, fixture, graphic and merchandise floorplans while adhering to challenging schedules and budgets for 122 (through 2015) new and remodel Sports Authority stores.

~ Appointed to promotional opportunity with responsibility to merge all construction CAD (5 designers) and visual CAD (3 designers) team members, responsibilities and processes into one cohesive department for Sports Authority.
~ Managed team of store planners and supervisor, providing leadership in the development/management of elevations, construction documents, architectural, fixture, graphic and merchandise floorplans to ensure prototypical brand standards were executed while adhering to challenging schedules and budgets for 118 new and remodel Sports Authority stores.
~ Led internal design approvals/sign offs on all new and remodel store layouts with executive and senior level stakeholders.
~ Mentored supervisor of CAD store planning in training, developing and overseeing the daily processes of the Store Planning team.
~ Served as stakeholder in the strategic concept development of Sports Authority’s 15k sq ft small market and urban infill concept store from initial programming phase through construction final.

~ Promoted to group manager position responsible for development of visual CAD and store transformation processes.
~ Recruited, trained, developed and managed team of 3 visual CAD designers and 1 store transformation specialist.
~ Managed and provided mentoring to team of designers utilizing AutoCAD to prepare/manage the design and production of architectural drawings and supporting documentation for merchandise, graphic, fixture and installation plans for 77 new and remodel Sports Authority stores.
~ Gave guidance to store transformation specialist in refining processes to create a standardized/scalable packet of information for all new and remodel stores.
~ Traveled to new and remodel stores for kick-off meetings to educate field management on store opening processes. Provided support to field from construction start through grand opening.
~ Served as stakeholder in the creation of Sports Authority’s new 40,000 sq ft prototype store environment from initial programming phase with outside consultants through construction final.

Sports Authority, Engelwood, CO, Manager of Visual CAD

~ Recruited, trained and managed team of 3 designers in the planning and merchandising initiatives, ensuring that the accuracy, consistency and brand specifications were met for 159 new and remodeled Sports Authority stores.
~ Successfully managed 23 new and 21 minor remodel store projects through a reduction of 3 designers in the department.
~ Became liaison between the store support center and new and remodel field management on all store opening processes.
~ Served as stakeholder in the creation of Sports Authority’s upscale specialty concept store S.A.elite from initial programming phase (created fully merchandised 3-D concept store) through construction final.
~ Created shop in shop concepts (footwear & surf shops) utilizing Sketchup and presented to executive leaders for buy in.

~ Newly created position responsible for conversion of Sports Authority’s existing store floorplans from AutoCAD into JDA Intactix Floor Planning database.
~ Partnered with the vice president of space planning and JDA Intactix team to create a process to convert AutoCAD floorplans into Intactix Floor Planning. Oversaw the JDA team over the course of 5 months to ensure all of the deadlines were met in the conversion of 231 floorplans.
~ Created standard operating procedures manual for the floorplanning process as it relates to Sports Authority.

~ Created fixture, merchandise, graphic and installation plans utilizing AutoCAD for 130 fully constructed new and remodeled Sports Authority stores.
~ Collaborated with department leads of construction, purchasing, merchant/planning, visual etc. to plan department locations, fixture specification/placement and merchandise. Balanced prototypical brand standards with site/building conditions, regionality, operational needs and budget objectives to create optimal layouts customized for each store.
~ Partnered with construction CAD to create an as-built survey and update floorplans with the information for 278 stores over 6 months to support the JDA Intactix initiative.
~ Supported the manager of construction CAD in the development of an “Attributes” program utilizing AutoCAD block information to create a fixture order in Microsoft Access.

~ Completed all phases of design for reconfigurations, additions and new installation of office furniture for 100-30,000 sq ft spaces.
~ Space planned furniture/systems furniture layouts and created 3D renderings (using AutoCAD and vendor specific software). Conducted in-field verification and priced options to work within client’s budget. Coordinated with the client’s architect on new builds. Specified finishes/details, produced installation drawings, ordered, arranged and oversaw installation of all furniture for clients.
