Hello, and thank you for reviewing my profile. My name is Jake Szymanski and I live and work in New York City as a freelance furniture and interior designer.

After studying interior design at The Fashion Institute of Technology, I went on to become an associate designer for William Sofield at the renowned firm Studio Sofield. My time with Mr. Sofield, allowed me to develop the precise skills required to design and fabricate high design interiors and furniture.

To further develop my design skills, I went on to work for Richard Mishaan Design as lead designer. Here I was required to produce comprehensive and detailed construction documents and furniture shop drawings. It was my responsibility to administer and supervise the fabrication of furniture and interiors.

Currently, as a freelance furniture and interior designer, I work with fellow designers to produce comprehensive design documentation. My services include custom furniture design, furniture shop drawings, architectural construction documentation, and fabrication administration.

In 2014, I began to design and fabricate my own furniture under the name JM Szymanski. I sell online and to the design trade.
