Throughout my 5 years of architecture, I tried to be more than just a student. I wanted to make my time at school worthwhile not only for me, but also to better my school; I wanted to make an impact. Not only did I work 40+ hours a week to pay for my schooling, but I was also very active in school. From student government to the AIAS and other leadership opportunities, I excelled and gave my advice and decisions for the school. I was a student representative for two years and the secretary for one. In my 4 years of involvement with AIAS, I was the Marketing Coordinator and then Vice President the following year. During my term as Vice President, I helped my chapter grow 200% and helped my school be heard nationally in the AIAS. I was responsible for the other 10 chair positions and made sure they were on task. On my spare time, I have done many of the school graphic designs from marketing events and designing posters for Career Service to Admissions. I won my school's logo design contest (which they are in the process of re-branding) and helped plan and take part in many of the events and lectures. Also, I became a finalist with my team in a design for a Monterrey Museum of Automotive Arts, which is an actual project that in still in the works.
