I am seeking a position with a design oriented organization to continue to develop my career experiences. Over the last 4 years I have been employed at Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture as a Senior Architect. My work experience there has been as a Team Leader and Senior Designer on a variety of mixed-use developments around the globe, including supertall buildings in China and Saudi Arabia. I have an extensive background in large-scale commercial and residential projects in the United States, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. I have also led both large and small teams of designers, technical coordinators and project managers. Among my responsibilities was to represent the firm abroad delivering design presentations to clients and governmental agencies.
With a focus on sustainability, I have led design efforts on projects such as a 26,000 sf net-zero-energy high school on Chicago’s north side, a new 940,000 sm central business district in Beijing and Ahlamana, a 36,000 sm mixed-use highrise building at King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I have also participated in the design development of Kingdom Tower, to be the world’s tallest building when completed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2017.
Before joining AS+GG in 2008, I worked as an Associate at Lohan Anderson Architecture on projects in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. I had directed projects from early schematic design through construction administration. My projects there have included a $6 million private residence in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, several FBI field offices in the United States, and a research laboratory building in Riyadh. While working on the FBI field offices, I attained experience in the development of blast-resistant curtain-wall design.
From 2000 to 2004, I was a Project Architect in the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, where I worked with both Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill. While at SOM, I was a project architect and designer on buildings in Chicago, London and Beijing, including Veteran’s Memorial Hospital Westside in Chicago and Huron Quay One at London’s Canary Wharf.
