I designed the High Line Library as part of a studio course at Parsons.
The intent of the High Line Library is to bring focus back to the exploration of and interaction with books, ideas, knowledge, and experiences. The library is designed as a space to explore and wander through, rather than just a place to retrieve reading materials. It brings relevance back to the book – and to knowledge – by making it part of a journey and part of an experience. In several respects, the library shares attributes of the High Line Park.
