The project was to “save” and remodel a cape built in the late 40’s without changing the envelope or adding to the footprint. The house is located in a rapidly changing area where small houses are demolished and replaced by very large size houses creating a very homogenous built environment.

The house is the residence of a young family with two small children and had to respond to their needs and life style.

In the process we were guided by the design principles of affordability, simplicity, sustainability and comfort.
