About

I am finishing my final year at Georgia Institute of Technology in May of 2014 and will then be looking for a full time job to begin my architecture career in the field. I am looking to gain experience in the field of Architecture and to use the skills I have acquired from school to help better the work of my employers and their clients.

I have wanted to be an Architect long before entering my College years. I had and continue to have a special interest and fascination for Residential and private architecture. Through my time at Georgia Tech, my interest in commercial and public architecture has grown. Because of Georgia Tech, I feel I can be very successful in both areas of Architectural work.

Employment

Georgia Institute of Technology- Campus Recreation Center, Atlanta, GA, Member Services Assistant

Responsible for general facility knowledge and customer purchases for use throughout the facility. I am the first to interact with customers and respond to their needs as they enter the gym. The job requires me to be CPR and First Aid certified.

This job has prepared me to advance my customer service skills and I feel this is important for the field of architecture and being able to handle clients and respond to their needs quickly and efficiently. This position has also helped the tune my communication skills to customers and to the rest of the faculty.

Aug 2012 - current

Buckhead Uniforms, Alpharetta, GA, Team Leader

I worked closely with customers to help meet uniform requirement needs, worked the register and logo applying machinery, Received and transferred shipments of merchandise, fulfilled in-store backorders and maintained stock order and merchandise numbers.

This was my second job and one that I really excelled in. By the time I left, I was the one that employees would come to if there was a problem or something they did not know how to do. I was the last responder before managers got involved.

This position helped me with my project and team management. I had many projects I was in charge of, and many younger employees that needed direction during those projects. It also helped with my communication and client skills. customers had a tendency to be very precise with what they wanted, and sometimes I would not feel the same way. But it was my job to please the customer (or client) and so I did as they wish as it was allowable for them.
