The studio brief challenges the traditional and current gated housing communities in China by creating a new permeable urban space that promotes interactive relations and encourages encounters in the public spaces that vary from residential, commercial to recreational. The entire housing complex should act as a catalyst for urban life, a social condenser offering a number of passages fro residents and visitors to walk through it creating a vibrant urban experience of city life.
