The Piekstraat Tower is a high-rise residential building situated on one of Rotterdam's historic harbours, with views over the river Maas and the city centre. Several very special drive-in lofts, allow owners to showcase their automobiles as art, in a glass-enclosed parking space, visible from their living rooms.

Rotterdam Zuid is an area of the city that is undergoing a decades-long revitalisation, which has been in process since the 1990s. The neighbourhood is known for being home to numerous small industrial harbours along the river Maas, many of which are no longer in use. Stantec designing master plan for Metropolis at Metrotown

Global integrated architecture and engineering firm Stantec has been selected to design the Metropolis at Metrotown redevelopment project, a transformation of a traditional retail mall into an iconic city center for Burnaby, British Columbia. The firm would lead the development of the project’s master plan as executive architect, as well as guide the integrated design team to cohesively bring all the design elements together.

Metropolis’ 35-acre site development would be phased and built incrementally, creating a new and vibrant neighborhood. The project would add residential housing—including 20 percent affordable units, sizeable street-front retail, expansion of the current Metrotower office complex, open space and public parks throughout the site, and new entertainment and cultural spaces.

41st and 43rd Street Pedestrian Bridges Receive 2024 National AIA Honor Award

The 41st and 43rd Street Pedestrian Bridges were recognized with a 2024 National AIA Honor Award.

This project arose from "Bridging the Drive," an international design competition launched by the city of Chicago, this project has created two signature pedestrian bridges that link the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood with the Lake Michigan waterfront. They are the second and third of five planned bridge projects, all aimed at memorably connecting residents and visitors with the lake.

In the early 2000s, then-Mayor Richard M. Daley was impressed by the pedestrian-oriented infrastructure he experienced in Europe and sought to achieve something similar in his city. However, due to the complexities related to public infrastructure approvals, elections, and overall funding, it took nearly 15 years to begin construction of the 41st Street Bridge and nearly 20 year before the second bridge was completed.

42, rue Cambronne, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, the transformation of the building constructed in the early 1970s by architect Marcel Roux to house ADOMA’s head office is complete. Reflecting the architectural practice of the time, the composition is clear and legible: a systematic facade of prefabricated concrete panels covers the different volumes.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Frank Jacobus, professor and head of the Department of Architecture and Stuckeman Chair of Integrative Design in the Penn State College of Arts and Architecture’s Stuckeman School, is set to go on a four-week artist residency at Loghaven in Knoxville, Tennessee to work on a sculpture garden pavilion designed by artificial intelligence (AI).

Loghaven is a competitive retreat-based artist residency welcoming creatives from many disciplines. Jacobus will reside there from May 20 to June 14.
